Anna Owen, 92, of San Saba, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Eventide Nursing Home. She was born April 30, 1917, in Goldthwaite, Texas, to Emzy McLean and Nettie B. Carter McLean. She married Jack Owen in Goldthwaite Texas, on February 29, 1936. Jack preceded her in death October 7, 1989.

Anna was a member of the First Baptist Church of San Saba and active in her Sunday School Class and was a Girl Scout Leader.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Miles and her husband Will Adams of San Saba; Jackie Maxcey of Brady; one brother, C. D. McLean of Lampasas; grandchildren, Mike Miles and his wife Cathi; Melinda Miles and her fiancé Patrick Gregory; Tana Thomas and her husband Steve; Tisha Shuffield and her husband Jim. She is also survived by her great-grandchilden, Madison Miles, J. Michael Miles, Blair Thomas, Alex Thomas, Jake Knowles, Kassidy Knowles, Garrett Shuffield, Riley Shuffield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Services were held Sunday, March 21, 2010, at 2:30 PM at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Crosby, officiating. Interment followed at San Saba Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
