RSHS students enter One Act Competition
Thursday, March 18, 2010 • Posted March 18, 2010

Competition will begin next week for the Richland Springs One Act Play students. They will be performing their entry for the public on Monday night, March 22nd in the RSHS Cafetorium. A spaghetti supper at 6:00 will be followed by the performance of Close Ties by Elizabeth Diggs at 7:00. Then on Wednesday, March 24, the students will perform in the Zone competition at Rochelle High School in Rochelle’s cafetorium. The Richland Springs play will begin at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Please be there early if you want to see the show at competition because no one will be allowed to enter after the play has begun.

Last week the play Company traveled to Austin to James Bowie High School where they performed for clinician Kris Andrews in the Bowie Starlight Theatre with a stage that is twice as wide as the RSHS stage. James Bowie High School performs eighteen shows a year and has multiple theatre teachers. They are a 5A school with a professional light board and sound board. The RSHS students were slightly overwhelmed by the facility and the amount of students since Bowie has 672 students in their graduating class this year, but the cast gave a beautiful performance and got many kudos from the critic.

The Company of Close Ties is looking for either a portable sound system or a Bose CD player that they could borrow or rent for the Zone Competition in Rochelle on March 24th. If you can help, please contact Patsy Hall at 372-1950.

The Company would like to thank everyone who has helped support the show and hopes everyone will continue their support by attending the performance on Monday, March 22nd.
