2 Samuel 6:6-7 "And when they came to Nacchon's threshing floor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ARK of God, and took hold of it: for the oxen shook it. (7) And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ARK of God."

One of the most interesting and most exciting subjects in your Bible is a study of the "ARK of God." For 40 days and 40 nights Moses sat before Almighty God on Mt. Siniah and received detailed instructions how to use and care for God's ARK, and Tabernacle. The Spirit of God was believed to exist in that ARK, and when it was given its proper place in the affairs of God's people of Israel, it always proved to bring great blessings for them. They dared not make serious decisions without the presence and help from God's ARK. They enjoyed victories in all their wars, even when greatly out numbered when they put trust in the Spirit of the ARK; Biblical and even profane history recognizes how that ARK blessed the Israelites, ad thousands of people have sought to find it, after it was lost for a time. Even vile and evil dictators have spent time and fortunes trying to find it with the belief it would bring victories over their enemies if they could possess it. It is well known that Adolf Hitler, Mussolini and Saddam Hussein aggressively sought to find it for that reason. It is a very sad event in the history of God's people when they actually rejected God's rule over them and wanted a king so they could be like other nations. God granted their desire, and they chose a king who turned out to be very evil. A brief mention to save space lets us know the ARK of God was not respected or used during the rein of that king, whose name was Saul, and he had a very short rein. He was wounded in battle and committed suicide to prevent capture. Both of his sons were also killed i that battle; after which the people chose David, who killed the giant and faithfully served God to be their king. He was truly a man after God's own heart and one of the first decisions he made after becoming their king was to assemble the Israelite leaders and ask them to bring the ARK of God back to Israel.
