Hunting has become a vital part of San Saba County's economy. Businesses, as well as landowners profit. If predators are not controlled, they can and will cause a decline in the availability of wildlife. Therefore it's important to keep the predator population in check in order to continue to attract hunters to our county.
The Association again sponsored a predator contest this past year. A total of 33 coyotes, 17 bobcats and 4 red foxes were taken. The contest winners each received a rifle. This seasons winners were Mel Judkins, Boerne; Jerry Don Moss, Llano and Alton Tinney, San Saba.
The Livestock and Wildlife Association needs as many members as possible.
