The Jr. High Lady Dillos traveled to Hico last Friday, March 5, 2010 for their first track meet of the year. It was a very windy day and as the sun went down it became very cool to go with the windy weather.

What was real nice was the indoor facility Hico has for the pole vault. Very unique. Very nice, especially for the vaulters.

The Ladies have only been able to work out very few times due to our rainy weather. So they were not in the shape they needed to be to run a track meet. Yet, these young ladies did a very good job overall. The 8th grade scored 32 points to end up 7th out of 9 teams. The 7th grade scored 85 points ending up 4th out of 9 teams. One young lady fell and hurt her ankle while leading a race. But for this accident, the 7th may have ended up in 2nd as it was close.

Medal winners include: First place: Mikayla Cisneroz - 100 Dash; A.J. Gamboa - 800 ( despite running the first lap in lane 6); Second Place: Mikayla Cisneroz-Triple Jump; Cassandra Gonzales - Discus; McKenna Maxcey - 100 Hurdles; Third Place; Mikayla Cisneroz - 400; Meredith Meador - 100 Hurdles; Valerie Salinas - 300 Hurdles; 7th 400 Relay (McKenna Maxcey, Lauryn Tatsch, Ashlyn Turner, A.J. Gamboa); 7th 800 Relay (Valerie Salinas, Shea Scott, Ashlyn Turner, Joy Trujillo); 7th 1600 Relay (McKenna Maxcey, Lauryn Tatsch, Ashlyn Turner, A. J. Gamboa)

Next Friday, March 12, 2010, the Ladies will travel to Comfort for a meet.
