The San Saba Tennis Team played three matches this past weekend. On Friday, February 26 the Tennis Team played Llano in Llano and came away with a win by defeating Llano 13 to 6. On Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. the Armadillos took on Bellville, the 15th ranked 3A team in the state. The Dillos played well but Bellville was very strong throughout their lineup and defeated the Dillos 16 to 3. In the afternoon at 3:00 p.m. the Armadillos playing very well defeated Waco Robinson 13 to 6. Robinson was ranked 20th in class 3A. The match with Robinson should give us the momentum we need going into the Regional 2A Team Tennis Tournament this weekend on March 5-6. San Saba will be trying to qualify for their 14th straight state tournament appearance. Last year the Dillos finished 6th in the state tournament. With a more experienced team this year we are looking forward to the regional tournament and if we play like we are capable of we have a good chance of winning regionals. Regionals will be played in Leander and the Armadillos are scheduled to play their first match on Friday, March 5 at 8:00 a.m. at Leander High School.
