Friends of the Library hold Annual Meeting

The Friends of the Rylander Library held their Annual meeting on Monday, February 22nd at the Rylander Library. The guest speaker was Mike Cox. During the business meeting, President Lynn Blankenship welcomed four new directors to the Friends Council. They are: Pat Belk for precinct 1, Trish Warren for precinct 2, Linda Parks, for precinct 3, and Christine Bessent for precinct 4. The directors whose three year terms ended were: Mikie Bishop, Zolly Jones, Danny Ingram and Millie Burnham.

The committees reported on their projects: The subject of the Summer Reading Program will be Trains. There will be changes in some of the landscaping later in the year. The Friends will add a microfilm copy of the 2009 San Saba News and Star to the library’s collection. Future programming, the annual art show and a possible book club were also discussed.

The Annual Membership Drive is underway. The Friends invite you to add your name to those who support the Rylander Library. The dues are $5.00 for an individual, $10 for a family or $15.00 for a business. There are membership forms available at the library or via e-mail at lblankenship44@gmail.com.
