San Saba County jailers/dispatchers are ready to move into and go to work inside their new communications center.
Sheriff Brown stated that when taking over as Sheriff, the working conditions of the jailers/dispatchers had to be a top priority. Working conditions were crowded and outdated and the equipment was in need of updating.
Sheriff's personnel, along with the County Judge and Commissioners, came up with a working plan to not only clean and fix up the jail, but to also make the changes necessary to bring the County’s 911 communications center up to speed with the changing times.
The final touches have been added and the dispatchers are hard at work with more space and additional equipment. Sheriff Brown stated, "In the past when a major emergency was happening, we were all tripping over each other. In the new 911 center we have three times the working space with multiple dispatch stations and a complete booking area. We are all looking forward to the new working environment and the changes ahead."
