We have had more rain today (Monday) with cooler temperatures. Sunny days are forecast for the next few days. I am ready for some warm weather and sunshine. Last Tuesday, we had the most snow that we have had in several years. We had 2 to 3 inches here. Snowmen sprang up everywhere. The twin boys next door made twin snowmen.

We were absent with our newsletter last week due to a lack of news. There were 17 people in attendance at the community meeting on February 20th. Mr. James Pelton, with Central Texas Telephone, showed some slides on the growth of CTC since 1960. It was interesting to see how things have changed. We thank him for coming and we thank Nelda Teague for inviting him. We had a new neighbor present at the meeting. He has been a resident of the community for about 3 years but it was his first community meeting. We were happy to meet Mr. Tim Krebe and I hear he is a real hard worker for the fire department. We will have a gospel singing at our March 20th meeting. All singers and piano players are especially invited. Mark your calendar and come and join us. We have been having a really good turn out for these singings and everyone seems to enjoy them.

Already, we are starting a new month. The Busy Bee quilters will meet on Tuesday, March 9th, the 42 tournament will be on the 13th at Richland Springs. I am late reporting this, but the other team tied for second place last month at the 42 tournament was Doyle Slaughter and Johnnie Rawls.

The Richland Springs boys basketball lost their playoff game last Friday night in Comfort. They did great to go as far as they did. Now they will move on to track, tennis and golf among other things. It is getting to that time of the year when the kids just run their legs off.

With the warm days of last week, the Algerita bushes are just about to bloom and fruit trees are budding out. March 20th is the first official day of Spring.

The dreaded time change arrives on March 14th, when we will be required to "spring forward." As I have said many times, I do not like this change at all!
