Dedicated students Laken Miller, Pete Torres and Tyler Lackey from San Saba High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America partnered with local family violence program Dove Project, CASA and TCFV to organize Take a Stand.

Take a Stand gathered 600 high school and middle school students to raise awareness about teen dating violence and educate young people about how they could be part of ending violence. To open the event, Dove Project Executive Director Malissa Mims provided an overview of the center’s services, CASA gave information about advocacy on behalf of children, and TCFV introduced the group to loveisrespect.org.
