Softball season is here again! The Lady Dillos kicked off the season this week by traveling to Evant to play the Lady Elks. The playing conditions for the game were cold and windy. Bad weather conditions couldn’t dampen the Lady Dillos spirits.

Sylvia Jimenez led off the game and was hit by a pitch. She advanced to second on a passed ball, stole third, and scored on a wild pitch. 1-0 Lady Dillos. Katie Ross reached on a third strike drop and advanced to second on a passed ball. Joannah Crosby hit a ball to the right side to move her over and Maloree Ramos knocked her in with another ball hit to the right side. 2-0 Lady Dillos. That would be the end of the scoring for the Lady Dillos. There was some struggle at the plate, but the hitting got better as the game progressed. McKenzie Hibler went 2 for 3 with two singles, Ashley Pulatie and Joannah Crosby also chipped in with a base hit.

Bianca Dawson pitched 6 complete innings giving up 4 hits and 6 runs (3 of which were earned runs). She struck out 6 while walking 9 batters.

The Lady Dillos are in action again on Monday, February 22nd in Goldthwaite. Thursday through Saturday, the Lady Dillos will be participating in the Hico Tournament.
