Dear Editor,

I have something I would like to sound off about and I believe it concerns a lot of people.

I went to my hometown doctor three weeks ago and to go in and look the doctor in the eye, I paid $125.00. I got a shot and paid $40.00 and another 40.00 for the nurse to give it to me. I get my nose sprayed twice and that was another $135.00. I was in the office 15 minutes max.

Total $340.00. I made the mistake of having insurance that paid $30.00 on this total visit. That leaves $310.00. Had I not had insurance it would probably have cost me about $90.00 total. I ask you, what is wrong with this picture? Has this happened to you? I am thankful for our doctors and nurses, however this is wrong to be charged so much just because I have insurance. I do not want free health care, just affordable. I am not a crazy old woman, just a mad old woman.
