On Sat. April 12 Joel, Betty, Garrett, and Erin Ratliff were in Marble Falls to attend the annual “Ratliff Reunion.” This years gathering was held at the River City Grille. Those attending were the direct descendants of Jesse and Della (Moss) Ratliff. Joel’s grandfather and grandmother, E.B. and Willie Ratliff, were well known in the Cherokee and San Saba communities, as they owned land at Babyhead and lived there from the 1930’s until their deaths in the 80s.

Wednesday evening, April 16, an appreciation dinner was held at the San Saba Sheriff’s office honoring the San Saba County 911 Dispatchers. Attending the event from Cherokee were San Saba 911 Dispatcher Cindy Williams and her son Ryan, also her brother and his family, Joel, Betty, Garrett, and Erin Ratliff.

We extend our sympathy to Sandy Kuykendall and family at the death of her Mother, Louise Jones. Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon at Cherokee Cemetery for Warren Hall.

The Junior and Senior Prom was held last Saturday night at Quail Point near Marble Falls.

The Broyles Reunion was held at Cherokee School last Saturday. George Strait’s new neighbors, Daniel, Piper and Cooper Gabarion were in town for the Broyles Reunion.

McKenzie Zulauf was honored with a birthday party last Saturday night at her home.

Richard and Jerry Randolph; Lynda, Regina and Matthew Randolph; Nettie Jean Randolph; Tracy, Kendall and Brady Johnson; and Sue Rhoades, from Cherokee, attended a birthday party in Llano for Caroline Oestreich. Kristi, Jessica, Jamie and Jenna Ball from Lampasas also attended the birthday party. Caroline was three. Cousin, Ashley Jenschke was in San Antonio celebrating her thirteenth birthday. The cousins share the same birthday.

Roddy and Barbara Maddox were in Dallas on Friday and Saturday visiting Roman and family.

Jody and Katherine Simmons and boys were in Corpus Saturday attending Mary Ann Simmons wedding. Mary Ann is Jody’s sister. Jody performed the ceremony.

Mickey Harr from Brownwood visited in Cherokee last Saturday.

Charles Perry, Don and Jody Ray and James and Jeff Low went to Choake Canyon fishing last weekend. They caught their limit everyday.
