2010 Texas Farm and Ranch Wildlife Expo

The Abilene Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service - Taylor County, will hold the 2010 Texas Farm – Ranch – Wildlife Expo, sponsored by Dodge, on Tuesday, February 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Taylor County Expo Center, Abilene, Texas.

Displays can be viewed on the coliseum floor, the coliseum mezzanine area and outdoors.

This year’s Texas Farm Ranch Wildlife Expo features over 175 booths with over 70 exhibitors, all within a short distance of one another. Vendors will showcase products and services directly related to wildlife, ranching, and agri-business. Admission is free.

Along with the great displays, the educational programs available will be very timely for those in agriculture, ranching, and wildlife. The Rolling Plains Cotton Growers Association will hold their annual meeting Tuesday morning followed by their annual luncheon. A Big Country Range Management seminar, Wildlife Habitat Management Seminar and Cotton Production Conference will also be held Tuesday. The Town and Country Women’s Fair, coordinated by the Family & Consumer Sciences Committee, will begin in the morning and continue throughout the early afternoon.

Wednesday’s meetings include a TDA Recertification Course, Pond Management Seminar, ToolVI session titled "Technology as a Tool" and a Prospective Wine Grape Producers Seminar . Additionally this year, we will again host an FFA/4-H Regional Judging Competition on Wednesday in the Display Building and Modern Living Mall.

The Chamber of Commerce has scheduled a luncheon to be held on Wednesday at 11:30 in the Big Country Hall and the cost is $15.00 per person. The luncheon is sponsored by Cavender’s and the guest speaker is Tumbleweed Smith, humorous story teller.
