San Saba Garden Club holds February meeting

The San Saba Garden Club held their regular monthly meeting, February 2, 2010. The ladies attending were, Anna Wilson, President; Connie Ballinger, Vice President; Marcie Cooper, Rec. secretary; Judy Brister, Correspondence Sec.; Nancy Nelson, Gail Bruner, Marcia Chown, Noma Fitzgerald, Trish Fullerton, Bonnie Harkey, Imogene Hawkins, Carol Littlefield, Vicky McWilliams, Marilyn Miller, Sandra Parks, Clione Rochat, Jeanne Sauer, Dorothy Miller, Sherrie Clarkson and Lynn McHenry.

The Garden Club Creed was read.

Minutes were read and approved, correspondence was read, Nancy Nelson made motion to nominate Sharon Hayes as the Garden Club Member of the year, that by Carol Littlefield's motion carried.

Carol talked about the Lasagna dinner, April, 18th at the Methodist Church, beginning at 11:30 am. Jane Randolph will be supervising the food, Jane is a well known caterer in the area and the food will be delicious.

We will be having a plant sale on the square the first Sat. of April.

Jason Williams, horticulturist and owner of Goldthwaite Florist, was our speaker. Jason spoke on WATER GARDENING. The talk was very interesting, starting with a small garden to a large one with fish. Jason always teaches us about gardening in a fun way.

The hostesses for the day were Sandra Parks, Noma Fitzgerald and Carol Littlefield. They provided wonderful vegetable soup and tortilla soup, with salad, and cornbread.

Imogene Hawkins provided the wonderful desserts.
