In recognition of his abilities and dedication to Law Enforcement, Sergeant Bucky Boswell has been promoted to Criminal Investigations Division Investigator in the Llano County Sheriff’s Department.
Bucky graduated from San Saba High School in 1995. He has a life-long dedication to public service joining the San Saba Volunteer Fire Department where he achieved qualification in Swift Water Rescue and served as an Assistant Fire Chief. In 2006, Bucky was licensed as a Peace Officer following completion of the West Central Texas Law Enforcement Academy where he was recognized for his perseverance and empathy for crime victims.
After licensing, Bucky joined the San Saba Sheriff’s Office in 2006 and quickly gained the respect of the citizens for his thoughtful and even-handed approach to patrol and criminal investigation duties. Bucky’s trust by the citizens and detailed knowledge of the countryside resulted in prosecution of many narcotics and criminal cases.
Following leaving the San Saba Sheriff’s Office in February 2009, Bucky immediately joined the Llano County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy assigned to the East Kingsland Substation. Bucky distinguished himself in the performance of his duties in this populous area containing a mix of bars, businesses, modest rural homes and highly affluent highland lakes residences. Based upon merit reviews, the Llano County Sheriff’s Office promoted Bucky to Sergeant on October 1, 2009. In his sergeant’s role, Bucky received supervision training and expanded his support for crime prevention programs and criminal investigations. Bucky also volunteered and qualified for the Special Response Team and successfully completed training in Execution of High Risk Search and Arrest Warrants as well as Raid Planning and Arrest Tactics.
Bucky received his latest merit promotion to Investigator on January 25, 2010. Llano County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are assigned all classes of major crimes including narcotics, assaults, homicides and burglaries. Required areas of expertise include interviewing, forensics, working with other law enforcement agencies and preparation of court cases for prosecution by the County and District Attorney Offices.
