Letter to the Editor
Thursday, February 4, 2010 • Posted February 4, 2010

I was greatly disappointed in the San Saba News and Star when I learned of their refusal to print the letter to the editor that George Amthor wrote entitled "WAKE UP AMERICA". He hit the nail on the head, and if we don't wake up and do something real soon we are headed for disaster. People, the bible says that our destruction will come from within, and that is just what is happening. The liberal democrats are working from within to give our freedom and our country away a little at a time. As the old saying goes "You put a frog in a pot of boiling water and he will jump out, but if you put him in a pot of cold water, and turn the fire up in small increments he will cook without realizing it." I realize that the News Paper is a privately owned business and you can print what you choose to print, but you can also put a notation at the bottom of these letters that states that the letters to the editor do not reflect the opinion of the paper, and are strictly the view of the author.

(Editor's Note: Karen Faught, Editor, San Saba News & Star)The letter Mr. Amthor submitted to the San Saba News & Star was not published due to the inflammatory language used. The use of name calling does not further the cause of truth or fact. We attempt not to offend our readers (or our advertisers) unnecessarily. I contacted Mr. Amthor to inform him we would be unable to publish his letter as written. On prior occasions Mr. Amthor's letters have been published in this paper. We encourage him and others to do so in the future, as long as they are appropriately written and space permits.
