Ladies Golf Notes

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association had a beautiful sunny day for play day on January 21, 2010. Texans are surely blessed to have such days as this in the middle of the winter.

Five ladies, Dorothy Sterner, Sandee Hartley, Jo Ann Snow, Janet Hoyt, and Hattie Rogers were all there to bask in the sunshine and chase that little white ball. Hattie Rogers called for a game of Odd Holes Front Nine - Even Holes Back Nine, Less 1/2 of your handicap. First Place went to Sandee Hartley and Second Place to Janet Hoyt. Sandee Hartley was Low Gross for the day and Jo Ann Snow was Low Net. All of the ladies were within four strokes of each other, so it was a battle until the end. Bobbie Churchill and Becky Hardin were present for lunch and to follow the ladies during play. Hopefully these ladies will be back on the links by spring.

Jo Anne Hardy has had knee surgery and is recuperating at home and doing well due to the tender loving care of her husband, Bill Hardy. She plans to be back as soon as possible.

Anita Miles and Sandee Hartley will be attending the annual Traveling Four Ball meeting in Georgetown, Texas on January 27, 2010. All members are invited to attend. The monthly business meeting will be February 4, 2010.

The winter does not keep the ladies at home. We meet at the San Saba River RV Community Room for games and coffee followed by lunch. We welcome all members or prospective members to join us for this day of fun and fellowship. However, if the sun peeps out, and the wind doesn’t blow, we’ll be back out there "swinging!"
