An inch of rain was received over a couple of days this past week. It was a slow gentle rain that soaked in with no run off. If everything goes as predicated we will be having some Spring like weather this week. The warm weather after the severe cold will be very welcome.

Jolene Lively wasn’t as injured as first reported. She did not have a broken arm, just a severely twisted wrist and her hip was not broken as badly as was first reported. She is at the Lampasas Nursing home in Lampasas receiving therapy to help her get back home.

Dillon Brister just completed another successful year competing each month with the Lampasas Riding Club Highpoint series, where the points are accumulated throughout the year. He won 2nd place in the 6 and under peewee age groups. An awards banquet was held Saturday, January 16, in Lampasas where he was presented his second buckle. It was hard to tell who was the proudest Dillon or his parent’s Michael and Gennifer. It is thought that Dillon will have a bright rodeo career ahead of him.

Saturday a birthday party was held for Haley Price who is now three years old. The party was held at the Rockers in Marble Falls. Many of her friends and relatives attended to make it a happy occasion. Haley is the daughter of Robert and Spring Price.

Robbie, Amy, Ethan and Ory Eckhoff was in over the weekend helping Leon and Mebbie work with the sheep. They visited with grandmother Jolene Lively in the Nursing home in Lampasas.

Debbie January, Amy and Megan Stewart was also in over the weekend visiting Jolene and family.

The Bend Community meeting went off as scheduled with a light crowd attending. The chili and Mexican soups and desserts were enjoyed by everyone who attended. Vernon and Judy Brister along with their daughter Kasha Lewis, her husband Levi and son Kaden also attended the meeting and visited with folks.

Happy birthday greetings go out to Brodie Lemons who will celebrate a birthday January 22, to Mickey Henniger who will celebrate a birthday January 23, to Stacey Hendrick who will celebrate a birthday January 28 and to Fannie Crawford who will celebrate a birthday January 28.

Congratulations go out to Jerome and Shirley Meischen who will celebrate their wedding anniversary January 26.
