Boys basketball coach Shawn Rogers and the varsity boy’s basketball team are off to a red hot 7-1 start. Girls basketball coaches Tony Dodson and Pam Starr, and the Lady Coyotes are off to an 11-9 start. Varsity action continues this Tuesday against Lohn at Lohn, and Thursday against Cherokee at Richland Springs. Games start at 6:30 p.m. Come out and support our young athletes in UIL competition.

Richland Springs will sponsor a blood drive on campus on Friday, February 5 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Contact any student or call the school if you want to donate the ‘gift of life.’

The San Saba County Stock Show will be Friday, January 15th. There will be an early release at 12:55 on Thursday, January 14, 2010, with no school on the 15th.

One Act Play director Patsy Hall has chosen Close Ties for the 2010 competition. Cast members include Emily Smith, Sara Hedley, Stephen Soto-Thornhill, Callie Teel, Kelyn Green, Brooklyn McGinty, Haustin Burkhart, and Brennen McGinty. Crew and alternates are Cheyenne Tharp, Stephen Fowler, Marsha McMillan, Elbert Thomas, Ashley Ferguson, and Jonathan Patino.

Richland Springs ISD is collaborating with the Texas Department of State Health Services to offer a free Vaccination Clinic for anyone who desires a vaccination for H1N1 influenza. The free clinic will be Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Richland Springs’ Cafetorium.

We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It looks to be a great year at Richland Springs.
