Elm Grove Echoes

We have been having some very cold weather this past week, but warmer temperatures are in the forecast with a good chance for some rain later this week. It has been sometime since we have seen any moisture. With the freezing weather in Florida, I imagine we can expect some higher prices for our fruits and vegetables.

The 42 tournament was cancelled last Saturday night because of the cold weather. The next tournament will February 13th at Shiloh.

The Elm Grove community meeting will be this Saturday night, the 16th, and there will be an election of officers as there is each year in January. Nelda Teague and Wanda Dennis will be the hostesses. Please try your best to be there. This is an important meeting for our community.

The Busy Bee quilters will meet Tuesday of this week.

Michael and Marilyn Suber and I met Lanell Parson at the Section Hand restaurant in Brownwood for lunch Sunday before visiting with my sister, Addie Long, who is still in the hospital. Addie needs our prayers as she is not doing well, at all.

How about those Cowboys? I sure would like to see them in the Superbowl this year. We were disappointed in the outcome of the Longhorn game last week. I hated to see them lose that game like they did.
