Marie Ledbetter Clark

Marie Ledbetter Clark, 76, of Spring Creek died peacefully in her Fairborn, Ohio home on Friday, January 8, 2010 after nearly a 10 year fight against Multiple Myeloma.

She was born in Austin, Texas on November 22, 1933, the daughter of the late Wade O’Brian and Willie Belle Ledbetter. After many years of service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, she retired as a Civilian Air Force Senior Logistics Manager. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Antioch University and is also a graduate of the Air Command & Staff College. Marie was a member of The First Baptist Church in Fairborn, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. Charles Clark and Herbert Walker, and her brother Delbert Ledbetter. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Mark & Kelly Clark of Cedar Hill, Texas; Mitchell & Tracy Clark of Yellow Springs, Ohio; Karen & Waring Worsham of San Antonio, Texas; and Sharon & Jeffrey Schroder of Bellbrook, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, Chris, Zach, Riley, Jonathan, Andrew, Joshua, Sami, Niki, Jesi, Dani, Lynsay and Scott; brother-in-law Ed & Carmelita Clark of Ft. Worth, Texas and nephew Mike Clark of Aledo, Texas; sister-in-law Mabel Ledbetter of San Saba, Texas, nephew Macy & Cathy Ledbetter of Spring Creek, Texas and niece Laura Spain & family of Rhome, Texas, and numerous, wonderful and loving friends.

Services were held at Maple Heights Baptist Church in Fairborn, Ohio at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Marie’s family would like to thank the Vitas Hospice staff for their tender kindness and support for Marie and family during her final days.
