Santa’s visit to Richland Springs on December 19th was a memorable day for all the children who came to sit in his lap and tell him all their secret wishes for Christmas. There were vendors selling wonderful gifts for Christmas, Moonwalk & games for the kids, a cake walk, a silent auction, live music with singers from Austin, Texas, Larry Oubre and his students, and wonderful food. Fun was had by all.
The Richland Springs Main Street’s New Face organization would like to thank all the volunteers that helped to make this an eventful day. Volunteers baked goods for the event and others made donations. Special thanks goes out to Ruth Reeves & family, Lynn Green & family, Roy & Winnie Shannon, Troy & Paula Shannon, Michael Oubre & Harrison Hammer for their help during the event, Tom Alston & Press Adams for monetary donations, and our silent auction was a success due to all the businesses that donated items. The businesses that were so gracious this Holiday season were La Plaza, San Saba River Pecan Company, Pecan Valley Hardware, Hamricks Automotive, Downtown Video, Pepperbelly’s Restaurant, The Rose Shop, Oliver Pecan Company, G&R Grocery, Everett’s Furniture, Beth Harris, Alamo Pecan Company, Mbellishments, Top Donuts, all of San Saba; Rising Star Vineyards Winery & Gifts, Ruthie’s Floral & Décor, & James’s Mercantile, of Richland Springs.
The Main Street’s New Face Fund is proud to be able to decorate downtown Richland Springs each year for the enjoyment of its residents and people traveling through. Thanks goes out to folks that helped decorate the store fronts and buildings on Main Street. Fund raisers, donations, and the good people make it possible for this tradition to continue. If you would like to make a monetary donation or donate an item for our next auction please drop them off at Rising Star Vineyards Winery & Gifts or Ruthie’s in Richland Springs. Keep a look out for our next published fund raiser and we hope all of you will join us. Happy New Year to all.
