Thursday, December 31, 2009 • Posted December 31, 2009

On Tuesday, December 22nd, San Saba Sheriff's Office received information that a subject wanted on felony charges was hiding at a residence inside Mason County and that there was a large amount of illegal narcotics at the residence.

Sheriff Brown contacted Sheriff Nixon from Mason County and passed on the information. Sheriff Nixon requested assistance from San Saba County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Brown and Chief Deputy Bill Price responded and assisted Sheriff Buster Nixon, Deputy Louis Barrington and Texas Ranger Dwayne Goll.

A raid on the residence was conducted and the suspect with the arrest warrant, Samuel Christopher Martinez was arrested.

A search of the residence led to the discovery of 390 grams of methamphetamine with evidence showing that an even larger amount of narcotics was destroyed by the bad guys before entry into the residence could be made.

A female, Crystal Diane Haley was also arrested for the narcotics charge with additional charges pending against additional suspects.

Sheriff Brown stated that, "Working with and sharing information with other agencies makes it harder for the bad guys to get set and feel safe. We look forward to working with Mason County in an effort to stop the movement of illegal narcotics between our two counties."
