Thursday, December 31, 2009 • Posted December 31, 2009

The Elm Grove VFD will be able to expand and make necessary improvements with the help of a $25,000 community development grant.

The grant, provided by Cap Rock Energy and LCRA, will be used to build additional space for fire-fighting vehicles and equipment.

"We are very grateful for this LCRA grant and we especially appreciate the additional assistance from Cap Rock Energy’s staff in Brady," says Dwight Reagan.

The community grant is one of a number of grants recently awarded through LCRA’s Community Development Partnership Program. The program provides economic development and community assistance grants to cities, counties, volunteer fire departments, regional development councils and other nonprofit organizations in LCRA’s electric and water service areas as part of LCRA’s effort to give back to the communities it serves. Cap Rock Energy is one of LCRA’s 43 wholesale electric customers and a partner in the grant program.
