Richland Springs’ varsity Coyotes won the area football championship with a 70-22 victory over Saint Jo. Richland Springs plays Strawn next in a state quarter-finals game at 7:30 p.m. at Early on Friday, November 27th. Both teams sport 11-1 season records with the winner advancing to the state semi-finals game. Richland Springs’ fans will sit on the visitor side at Early Stadium. Tickets for the game will be $4 for students and $6 for adults.

As this week began, girl’s basketball coach Tony Dodson and the Lady Coyotes are off to a 2-2 start. The Lady Coyotes lost to Brookesmith 39-29 on Nov 21st. The varsity Lady Coyotes played Blanket on Monday and Gustine this past Tuesday. Junior high boys and girls basketball teams also played Monday with games against Rochelle. Come out and support our young athletes in UIL competition.

Friday, November 27th-8th will have spelling and writing events on Monday, Nov. 30th. Tuesday, Dec. 1, is the 6th – 8th Junior High competition at Rochelle. Wednesday is 2nd-5th spelling and writing. Thursday, Dec. 3rd, is the 2nd-5th competition at Richland Springs. Prep materials were sent home for the Thanksgiving Holidays with these students so they will have an opportunity to study and be successful in their events. Parents are encouraged to help prepare their children for the elementary and junior high academic UIL competition over the Thanksgiving break.
