There’s nothing quite like Texas pride, and there is nothing more Texan than hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. That’s why I am excited to announce the Texas Department of Agriculture’s new GO TEXAN Wildlife Initiative. This new part of the GO TEXAN marketing campaign targets businesses and organizations that focus on wildlife recreation.

GO TEXAN Wildlife Initiative members have a lot to gain. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department estimates fish and wildlife-related recreation has an economic impact of close to $16 billion on the state. So if you are a member or owner of a wildlife business or organization involved in hunting and fishing, I encourage you to become a GO TEXAN member and promote Texas’ impressive wildlife activities.

What are the benefits of being a GO TEXAN Wildlife Initiative member? Members and their events are listed on the GO TEXAN Web site and in print and online publications; members can also use the GO TEXAN logo and have opportunities to participate in GO TEXAN promotions; and they get negotiated rates on advertising promotions.

Today’s fast-paced lifestyles make many people long for the simple pleasures of outdoor activities like fishing and wildlife watching. It just makes good sense to combine our award-winning marketing campaign with what makes our state special - our diverse and extensive wildlife resources. So go hunt, go fish, GO TEXAN!
