Congressman Conaway meets with constituents at San Saba County Courthouse

Congressman Mike Conaway met with constituents at an open discussion regarding our health care system and other pressing issues facing our country on Friday, November 13th at 1:15 to 2:00 p.m. in the San Saba County Courtroom.

Conaway is against Speaker Pelosi’s 1,990 page government takeover of our health care system plan. He explained in length the proposals of this type of program and the harm it would be to insurance company’s, businesses and individuals. He has submitted a health care plan that he feels would benefit everyone because he is against a government takeover plan.

Other issues discussed were: 34,000 illegals being transported out of California; Cap and Trade; Cap and Tax; Wind Energy; Greenhouse gases; Pro life; health insurance is expensive; needs to be changes but not the kind of changes President Obama is doing.

Congressman Conaway reported that the govenrment is in debt 62 trillion dollars with no plan to pay it off. The IRS needs to be eliminated or restructured. Although there have been e-mails telling people that guns will be registered with the government with 2010 tax return, that is not true.

Conaway stated that Nuclear power needs to be increased in the United States, and reported that 80% of France’s power is Nuclear. Nuclear power would be his preference over a wind power source.

Ricky Wright, District Director, will be available for law enforcement on immigration, illegals and prisoner issues.Wright accompanied Congressman Conaway to the meeting.

Melinda Walker, an Official Reporter for the House of Representatives attended the meeting.

Walker is the daughter of Billie Walker and the late Leroy Walker.
