Bobby W. Spinks, 80, of San Saba, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2009 in Brownwood, TX. He was born January 23, 1929 in San Saba, Texas, the son of Curry Spinks and Corrine Spinks. Bobby W. Spinks and Peggy Smith were married on October 7, 1948 in San Saba County. Bobby was a retired teacher and mechanic and attended the Church of Christ in San Saba, Texas.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Peggy Spinks of San Saba; his sons, Dennis Spinks and his wife, D’Ann of Brownwood; Jerry Spinks and his wife, RoAnna of Cedar Park; his grandchildren, Darrel D. Spinks, Joni Patterson and her husband, Les; Casey Spinks, Kirby Spinks, his great-grandchild, Tyler Patterson; his brother, Beverly Spinks and his wife, Joyce of Abilene; and his sisters, Bonnie Hamrick and her husband, Weldon of San Saba; Carolyn Perry and her husband Charles

of Cherokee and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Bill Spinks.

Services were held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jody Simmons officiating and Rev. Bill Grusendorf assisting.

Interment followed at China Creek Cemetery.

The family received friends at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The family requests that memorials be made to the San Saba County EMS or the Cherokee Children’s Home.
