Lady Dillo Track Report
Thursday, April 17, 2008 • Posted April 17, 2008

The San Saba Lady Dillos ended their track season last Monday in Ballinger. I was very proud of the TEAM for their effort and we had two girls, Haylee Oliver and Danessa Vasquez, who qualified for Regionals which will take place in Abilene. Haylee is advancing in the High Jump and Danessa will be competing in the 800 and 1600. I made the decision to run most of the girls in the JV division due to us being so young and inexperienced compared to the rest of the district and the girls had a great day scoring 125 points finishing second to Walls 141. I’m hoping this group will stick with track over the next three years and with the Big 3 in girls track changing districts (Wall, Ballinger, and Jim Ned), we can really excel over the next two years.

Regardless of which division we were entered in, ALL of the girls competed and showed great Heart and Determination at the meet.

Also I would personally like to thank Coach Bowden, Coach Gayoso, Coach Glidewell, Coach Welch for all the work they did in organizing our own track meet. A big thanks goes out to our maintenance men, Kenneth, Luis, Scott and Paul for all the markings of the rings and placing of the flags and poles. A big thanks to the ladies in the computer room- Mrs. McIntosh, Mrs. Welch, and Mrs. Miller. We couldn’t have had the meet without Mr. Spur (Jason Howard) on the microphone keeping the meet organized. A big thanks to all teachers and fellow San Sabans who worked either timing or picking and to Mr. Joe James for starting the meet. Mrs. Pulatie once again did a great job in the concession stand and thanks to all who helped her. If I left anyone out I apologize but the meet went smoothly and it was due to the work of you good folks of San Saba. Once again thanks Coach Bowden, you did an awesome job and are appreciated. Thanks once again.
