The second annual Heart of Texas Coaching Clinic was held this past weekend at Richland Springs School. The clinic was well-attended by approximately 75 coaches wanting to learn more about achieving success in 6-man football. Thanks to all who supported the event by volunteering of your time and talents.

UIL academic regional qualifiers competed at Brenham last week. No students advanced to state competition this year. Thanks to Brenda Roberds for her untiring efforts to support UIL academic competition. Kudos to volunteer Mrs. Melanie Smith for her involvement with our students to help them achieve success in UIL academic competitions.

Many Richland Springs’ seniors are finalizing college plans. Education beyond high school gives individuals more opportunities in the workplace. You can see the excitement building in the senior class as they finish up the school year. The senior class of 2008 has provided great leadership for our school and students.

Good attendance is so important to student success. The next round of TAKS testing begins in two weeks. Please urge your child to be at school each and every day. There are only seven weeks of school remaining. April 21 is a student holiday for teacher staff development. April 22 is scheduled for spring pictures for any student involved in spring sports or is interested in retakes of earlier pictures. Class portraits and student portraits will be taken. Please have your child dress appropriately for picture day.

If you see a teacher in public, tell them how much you appreciate their efforts.

We have a great community, students, teachers and staff.

Community involvement is the key to our success!
