Lady Dillo Report
Thursday, November 12, 2009 • Posted November 12, 2009

This past Tuesday we crossed the river and battled the Lady Eagles of Goldthwaite in our second scrimmage of the year. We received plenty of work and did fairly well throughout the scrimmage. We played a ten minute running clock to start off the scrimmage and looked very well early. We did a good job of pressuring their guards and Danessa Vasquez shot the ball really well in this segment.

The second ten minute portion didn’t go quite as well. The Lady Eagles got after us pretty good and we did a poor job of blocking out. They’re really big and we didn’t make contact on a few missed freethrows which led to easy put backs for them. We finished off the scrimmage with a “normal” half and played well during this portion of the scrimmage.

Well this was our last tuneup before Tuesday, Nov. 10th.

Our varsity players are:

Seniors- Nicole Sears and Silvia Jimenez,

Juniors- Tarah Crosby, Johna Reavis, Jaena Edwards, Danessa Vasquez, Bianca Zepeda, and Haylee Oliver,

Sophomore- Ashley Pulatie,

And Mighty Fish-Carlee Cromer.

We’re really looking forward to the season. We got a taste of the playoffs last year and are eager to return. One thing that we’ve been stressing to this group is to play and practice HARD at all times.

When we play HARD we’re pretty darn good but when we don’t, we will struggle. Hopefully, we can put a product on the court that will make the County of San Saba proud.

There is a change in our schedule. Our game with Winters

has been moved to Saturday, November 14th with the JV going at 2:00 p.m. and the Varsity at 3:30 p.m. The game will be in Winters, America.

Now for the fun part of the Lady Dillo Report!! Once again, “HOW BOUT THEM DILLOS BABY?” The “SHOUT OUT”

this week goes to an unsung group that plays such a pivotal role during the game. I don’t know what to call them, possibly the 5 PILLARS OF STONE, the HAWGS, PHAT BOYS but how about this? Let’s go with THE BIG NASTIES!!!

Coach Gotcher has done a great job meshing this group and

what holes they have opened this year. Let’s go 12th man, let’s make some noise this Friday in Early, America and let’s roll in Round 1.

Where would you rather be this time of year than in a playoff game? Sorry, a deerblind can’t compete with this great group of coaches and young men.

HUNKER DOWN BOYS AND LET’S GO GET’EM “D” SQUAD!! Phil 4:13.
