Geneva Shaw, 92, of San Saba, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Brownwood Regional Hospital in Brownwood Texas. She was born September 8, 1917 in Mills County Texas, the daughter of William Travis Sparkman and Louisa Alice Head. Alice Geneva Sparkman and J. R. Shaw were married on September 8 1935 in Locker Texas. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1983. She was a retired teacher and attended The Fathers House. She was a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Pierian Study Group.

Geneva is survived by her sons, Travis Shaw and his wife, Tama of San Saba; Jarvis Shaw and his wife, Patty of San Saba, and Glynis Shaw of San Saba, Texas; her grandchildren, Troy Shaw and his wife, Anna; Trey Shaw and his wife, Robin; Jennifer Shaw Lusk and her husband, Trey; Jayson Shaw and his wife, Shanna; J. R. Shaw ll, Jessyca Shaw Jackson and her husband, Broni; her great-grandchildren, Cameron Lusk, Allyson Lusk, Hailey Shaw, Ava Shaw; two sisters, Mary Sparkman McCarty and her husband, Ray of Weatherford, and Martha Sparkman Hamm of Ft. Worth and several nieces and nephews.

Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and one brother.

Services were held at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Tom Brand Officiating.

The family received friends at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home on Sunday, November 8th from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Interment followed at the San Saba Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the San Saba Cemetery Association and San Saba County EMS.
