More wild flowers are blooming each day, but the bluebonnets are still not as pretty as they have been in years past. The weather has jumped from hot days to rather cool sweater wearing days with Monday morning being the coolest. The cold front didn’t lessen the appetite of the little humming birds that are around, as there were more birds than spaces around the feeder. It reminds you of a busy airport. Instead of planes circling in the air little hummers are circling waiting their turn at the feeder.

Don’t know where this month has gone, but seems like it has been on a fast pair of roller skates. It will be over half gone by the time you read this.

Last weekend George, Toni Mayben along with Tim and CheeChee Brockman were in Dallas at the Texas Speedway to enjoy the car races.

Wednesday night a group met at the home of Jim and Edna Machen to play 42 and Five Crowds. The group enjoyed the tamales and all of the other goodies that Jim and Edna provided in order for the players to keep up their strength.

Jack and LaNell Daniels made a trip to Oklahoma to help the economy of the Indians. It was reported that LaNell brought back more than she went with, which is usually the case as she is one lucky lady.

Sunday the Bend Church of Christ enjoyed the preaching of Danny Duggan from Cherokee.

Jane Clark reported that grandson Andrew Houdyshell and his team won their baseball game this past week in Lampasas. She also reported that his mother Jamie is busy getting ready for her garage sale which is to take place Saturday. There will be lots of good stuff for sale.

The Bend Community Meeting will take place Saturday, April 19, at 6:30. Everyone is invited and the meal will be pot luck, so bring your favorite dish and/or dessert. After a short business meeting games will be played.

Come prepared to have a good time.
