Otha Jewel Wilton

Otha Jewel Wilton, 93, of Richland Springs, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2008 in San Saba. She was born January 31, 1915, the daughter of Adolphus Wells and Neual Ella Speegle Wells. On April 19, 1932 Otha Jewel and Thomas Wilton were married in Lometa, Texas. Thomas preceded her in death on November 20, 1995. Otha Jewel attended the First Christian Church in Richland Springs.

She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Green and her husband, Frank, of Abernathy, TX; and Susan Gossett and her husband, Floyd, of Richland Springs, TX; one very special nephew, Mark Huff and his wife, Roselle, of Lavernia, TX; grandchildren: Brenda Huffman, Betty Sessions, Glenda Rhone, Burnie Brown, G.H. Brown Jr., Lisa Christiansen, Marcy Henderson, Jeanna Dea, Jody Green, Damon Gossett, Kimberly Burns, and Brian Gossett; great-grandchildren: Colby Huffman, Clint Huffman, Leslie Sessions, Glennis and Shelly Sessions, Matthew Rhone, Tammy Brown, Bubba Brown, Tiffany Brown, Kelly Christiansen, Lexy Christiansen, Lacey Christiansen, Jade Christiansen, Rhanda Luna, Declan & Douglas Dea, Green, Chase, Ashton and Wade Holden, and Nichole Burns; twelve great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Thomas Wilton Jr.; one daughter, Vera Brown; two brothers, Everett Wells Sr. and Newell Wells; and one sister, Vera Wells Caldwell.

Services were held Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Richland Springs Cemetery. Officiating were Rev. Dick Williams, Rev. Barry Fikes and Frank Green.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Solaris Hospice of Brownwood, and the Richland Springs Cemetery Association.

Funeral services were under the direction of the Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba, Texas.
