The District 6-2A UIL Academic Meet was hosted by Wall High School on Monday, March 24th and Friday, March 28th, 2008. The meet was held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Wall Brethren Church and Wall High School.

The following students participated in the following categories: Accounting: Team Score-4th place -Candace McKinney, Bradley Cummins-8th place and Tarah Crosby. Prose: Nathania Cisneroz, Karoline Jordan and Kayla Ellis. Science: Team Score-5th place - Chad Whitely-6th place, Justin Barker, Whitney Key, Tyler McIntosh, Chase Key and Tarah Crosby. Persuasive Speaking: Tyler Lackey, Kara Bradley and Bradley Cummins. Informative Speaking: Tara Owens and Luke Haug. News Writing: Brenda Gibson, Sonni Hunt and Jaena Edwards. Feature Writing: Ann Marie Carpenter, Kelli Cox and Brittany Glaze. Editorial Writing: Jimma Hicks, Courtney Womack and Kayce Ellis. Headline Writing: Leanne Perry-10th place, Emily Sanchez and Johna Reavis. Computer Science and Computer Science Hands-on Pilot: Nick Tasker and Jose Vega. Number Sense: Team Score-7th place – Pedro Prado, Jose Vega and Chase Key. Current Issues & Events: Team Score-3rd place – Luke Haug-9th place, Reid Casco-10th place, Hannah Crosby and Derek Sears. Ready Writing: Shelby Hardy, Kaitlin Bode and Justin Barker. Computer Applications: Chad Whitely-9th place. Calculator: Pedro Prado-10th place and Haylee Oliver. Literary Criticism: Team Score-4th place – Amanda Carpenter, Nicole Sears and Jimma Hicks. Spelling & Vocabulary: Team Score-5th place – Jose Vega, Heather Spence, Natasha Hernandez and Danessa Vasquez. Social Studies: Sara Sloan and Nathania Cisneroz. Mathematics: Team Score-6th – Chad Whitely, Justin Barker, Bobby Pairett and Alex Rangel.
