William Fletcher Lackey

William Fletcher Lackey, 76, of San Saba, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Rollins Brook Hospital in Lampasas ,TX. He was born October 11, 1933 in San Saba, TX, the son of William Rainey Lackey and Catherine Aliena Ratliff Lackey. William Fletcher Lackey and Yoko Komi were married in Yokohama, Japan on July 26, 1956. He worked in Underwater Demolation for the U.S. Navy. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1970.

Fletcher is survived by his wife, Yoko Lackey of San Saba; his son, Craigan Lackey and his wife, Sara of Temple; his daughters, Connie Hale and her husband, Allan of San Saba; Cathy Lackey of San Saba; Cindy Lackey of San Saba; his grandchildren, Christopher Hardin, Malissa Mims and her husband Jake, Frank Zapata and his wife Tera, Michael Ward, Jake Lackey and his wife Lisa, Neil Ward, Ryan Ward, Kayti Lackey, Tyler Lackey, Allan Hale, Shannon Hardin, Ricky Hardin, Shawn Hardin, Randy Hardin,; his Great-Grandchildren, Jadon Harbor Mims, Layne Ward, Emmi Zapata, Addi Zapata, Westin Lackey, Wesley Lackey, Winton Lackey; his sisters, Erma Avant of Florida, Patsy Teltow and her husband Jerry of Salado, and several nieces and nephews

Fletcher is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charlie Lackey; and three brothers, Wade Lackey, Doug Lackey and Winston Lackey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Crosby officiating. There will be Full Military Honors.

The family will receive friends at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home on Thursday, November 5th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
