Lady Dillo Report
Thursday, November 5, 2009 • Posted November 5, 2009

This past weekend we traveled to Lampasas and were in a three way scrimmage with Austin LBJ, Llano and Lampasas. We went twenty minutes with each team and won two of the three segments. We opened up with Austin LBJ and were outscored 20-11. Their heigth and athleticism

gave us some trouble. I had no idea what they would run

on defense and they opened up in a half court trap and it took us a while to make adjustments. We defeated Llano 13-11 and Lampasas 21-11.

We did some good things and we have SEVERAL things to improve on. I liked our effort which our girls always provide. We struggled in our half court defense and that’s one area where I was disappointed. We were way too close several times on closeouts and the offensive players made us pay. These are correctable points which we should improve on.

We will have scrimmaged Goldthwaite when the paper

comes out and the Lady Eagles should give us a good test in our final tuneup before our first game which will be on Nov. 10th versus the Lady Lions from Brownwood. The JV will play at 5 p.m. and the Varsity will play at 6:30 p.m., when we host Brownwood.

The Lady Lions are coached by former Priddy and Howard Payne star, Heather Hohertz. I have talked to a few coaches and they said that she has them playing hard

and with a great deal of intensity. What this tells me is that this isn’t the same old Brownwood that we will be facing. We had a good following in Lampasas and we

appreciate the support for the Lady Dillos.

Now, for a few parting words. “How bout them DILLOS once again!!!!” Playoff Bound Baby!! Also, how about the Best 12th Man in the Hill Country? You guys were awesome. A “shout”

out to the football staff, you guys have done a great job, and how about a shout out to the D-SQUAD!!! You guys played lights out and made us proud. Keep it Rolling!!! Let’s Hunker Down come playoff time and enjoy the

ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!
