Comanche Defeats 8th Dillos, 48-20

The Comanche Warriors defeated the San Saba 8th Dillos by a score of 48-20 in Comanche last Thursday night. The warriors clinched the 8-AA District Championship and went undefeated for the season. The 8th Dillos played hard and gave them a run for a while during the contest. Comanche never stopped the Dillo offense, only the Dillos stopped themselves several times. Comanche kicked to San Saba to start the game. Dallas Caldwell returned the ball 10 yards. Jordan Watson had runs of 3, 15, 4, 3, 45, 2 and 1 yards. Kelan Verette added 2. Jordan Watson ran in from the 2 yard line for the first Dillo score. The PAT failed, 6-0 Dillos. San Saba kicked to Comanche. Comanche struck quickly on a 30 yard pass play for a touchdown. The PAT was good, 8-6 Comanche. Comanche kicked to San Saba. Jordan Watson had a 25 yard return. Watson gained 8 yards. Verette threw a pass, fell incomplete and the Dillos punted. Comanche took over. Brian Rogers had a good tackle. Kelan Verette and Dallas Caldwell played good defense. Eventually Comanche scored from 30 yards out, (16-6 Comanche as the quarter changed).

Jordan Watson had a 20 yard return on the kick-off. Dallas Caldwell got 20 yards on the trap blocking of Wesley Gates, Brian Rogers, Kristian McCoury, Brandon Amstead, Dylan Rosales and Daniel Calderon. Watson added 9 more, then 7, then 6. The Dillos gave up the ball on a fumble at the Comanche 20. Calderon, Rogers and McCoury played good defense. Kolton Ellis, Ashton Krueger, Ruben Aguirre, Cosme Diaz, J.T. Hibler, Ismael Ramirez, Dustin Sloan, Gunnar Hibler, and Kelan Verette played well. Dallas Caldwell knocked down a warrior pass. Comanche punted. The Dillo offense got the ball in good field position. Dallas Caldwell gained 20 yards. Verette 14, then 4. Cosme Diaz raced 30 yards on a reverse play for a touchdown. Watson ran in for the PAT, 16-14 Comanche. The Dillos kicked to Comanche. The Warriors had a good return. The Comanche quarterback scored from 40 yards out and ran in the PAT, 24-14 Comanche. Comanche kicked to San Saba. Watson ran for 7, 2, Caldwell 4, Watson ran for 30 more the last play of the half, 24-14 Comanche.

San Saba kicked to Comanche to start the second half. Comanche drove and scored on a 20 yard run. The PAT was good, 32-14 Warriors. Comanche kicked to San Saba. Watson returned the ball 15 yards, Watson had runs of 9, 5, 4 yards; Caldwell 3, Watson 5, Caldwell 5 more before Jordan Watson broke on a 25 yard touchdown run. The PAT failed 32-20 Warriors. Good blocks by Jerry Davila, Kolton Ellis, Ashton Krueger, Ruben Aquirre, Daniel Calderon, Cosme Diaz, J.T. Hibler, Cameron Rossi and Brian Rogers aided the drive. San Saba kicked to Comanche. Good defensive play by Kolton Ellis. J. T. Hibler on the run. Comanche scored on a 40 yard pass play, the PAT was good, 40-20 Warriors. Comanche kicked to San Saba. Verette ran for 4 as the quarter closed.

Jordan Watson opened the 4th quarter with a 5 yard run. The Dillos came up short and punted. Comanche drove and scored on a 30 yard run. The PAT was good, 48-20 Warriors. Comanche kicked to San Saba. Cosme Diaz ran for 30 yards. Verette got 10, Watson 12, then 2. The Dillos fumbled the ball away. Comanche was stopped by Cosme Diaz and Ruben Aguirre. Comanche punted. San Saba tried several passes as the game came to an end. 48-20 Comanche. The 8th Dillos play Coleman in San Saba Thursday night to end their season.
