Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, April 10, 2008 • Posted April 10, 2008

We had .3 of rain at Elm Grove last Thursday with an inch falling in the east part of the community. Remember we had snow at this time last year. The weather has been beautiful and it is making everyone think about flower beds. I hope they are not “jumping the gun”.

We were sorry to hear of the passing of Daphyne Gober Nelson of the Holt community. Graveside services were held for her Sunday afternoon at the Holt Cemetery. We send our sympathy to Wayne and the rest of the family. Daphyne was another cousin of mine. I have lost four cousins in the last few months.

We have begun another new month. The year is flying by, as usual. The 42 tournament will be April 12th at Elm Grove. The Busy Bee quilters meet on the 8th and the community meeting will be the 19th. Final plans for the annual homecoming picnic, held in May, will be made. Hostesses for the community meeting are Valerie Gossett and JoLynn Tharp.

Linda Tharp will have had her second chemo treatment by now. We send her our best wishes.

It is not too early to mark your calendars for rodeo coming up the first Thursday in August.
