The raffle drawing, benefiting the Pecan Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, was held April 1st at Arrowhead Bank. A total of $3,230.31was raised for the local chapter.

Many community members played a huge part in making this fundraiser such a success. Specifically, Laynie Johnson, Cynthia Weatherby, Ann Reyes and Dison Seider are "heroes" for the vast amount of effort and work they put into this benefit for the American Red Cross.

The San Saba Independent School District also played a major part into the success of this fundraiser. At the elementary school, teachers paid $10.00 to wear jeans to school and the students had a "penny" drive. Teachers at San Saba Middle School also paid $10.00 to wear jeans to school. Middle school students paid $1.00 to have a cap day. The Student Council and National Honor Society at the high school contributed their help by selling raffle tickets. In addition, high school teachers paid $10.00 to wear jeans to school. Overall, San Saba's school district was a major contributor to the success of this benefit.
