San Saba City Council holds called meeting October 20th

The San Saba City Council held a called meeting on Tuesday, October 20th at noon in the City Hall Council Chambers. Mayor Ken Jordan called the meeting to order and announced a quorum present.

The first order of business was to present the Joe Ragsdale Employee of the Month award to John Whitney, who has worked for the City for three years and works in the Street Department. Whitney was presented a carryall and will receive one day off with pay.

Ron Greiner, Vice President of Government Capital Securities, explained the Texas Certificates of Obligation, Series 2009 to the City of San Saba. These funds will be for necessary improvements at the waste water plant and repairs to one of the water towers. The first payment is due May 15, 2010 which is listed in the budget. The Council approved Ordinance No. 2009-20 authorizing, prescribing terms, providing payment, awarding the sale of, making provisions and use of the proceeds and matters incident thereto.

The Council approved the following:

1. Resolution No. 2009-25, approving the budget amendments for 2008-09.

2. The sale of lots Nos. 9,10,11,12,16,17,18,19, 24, 27, and 33 of the Allison Sister’s Subdivision from City of San Saba to JNA Construction, LLC.

3. Changes to the Dove Project Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.

Mayor Jordan announced a short break and then an Executive Session would be held. During the Executive session the Council authorized Mayor Jordan to hire a Bankruptcy lawyer to proceed with the Water Park issue.
