Well, it’s hard to believe but it’s almost that time of year again. The Lady Dillo JV and Varsity teams will kickoff (still in the football mode) their seasons this

Saturday, October 31st in Lampasas, America. The girls have been working extremely hard and we’re looking to build on the momentum we created last year. The Varsity will open up at 9:00 a.m. against the Austin LBJ Lady Jaguars.

We had a great game with these guys last year at the Burnet Tournament and they have a few players back from last year so I’m sure we’ll get a good test right out of the gate. We will next scrimmage our FRIENDLY foes from Llano at 10:00 a.m. and then end up the scrimmage against Lampasas starting at 10:30 a.m. Each segment will be about a twenty minute time frame.

The JV scrimmage schedule hasn’t been finalized as of yet so parents will need to ask their child about the times. I know how kids get messages home to their parents so you might want to call the school or me to get the times.

Lampasas has a brand new high school and gymnasium and it’s on the Burnet Highway off of 281. The two new gyms are side by side which makes it nice for fans to see games at the same time. I’ll add a bit more about our District at a later time but according to the latest TABC polls which mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things, Early is picked to win our District followed by Bangs and the Lady Dillos.

In my opinion Coleman and Comanche will be much better and so will the Lady Bulldogs from Brady. Dublin also has the big post kid inside named Spivey and if you’re not ready to play she can hurt you. With all of that said, what it means is that our District race will be exciting and once again tough from top to bottom. We’ve been a bit inconsistent at times during practice but when we’re ON we look really good and when we’re OFF we don’t look like Lady Dillos. We’ll get better and be ready to go once the season really counts. The thing we’re stressing right now is to PRACTICE HARD!!!

Like the old saying goes as corny as it is, “You play like you practice”. Our second scrimmage will on be Tuesday Nov. 3rd at Goldthwaite with the Lady Eagles and the Lady Tigers from Hico. Our first real game will be with the Brownwood Lady Lions at Armadillo Arena on Tuesday, Nov. 10th. Another big hit will be our Hill Country Classic once again as twenty teams from across the State of Texas visit San Saba, America. We might have to adjust a bit due to the football playoffs but that’s a GREAT problem to have.

Speaking of the football team, “HOW BOUT THEM DILLOS AND COACH PANNELL

AND STAFF!!!!” Let’s get off our seat and on our feet to help the Dillos to many more victories. Great job thus far guys, KEEP IT ROLLING!!!! Phil 4:13
