For once the weather man was right on target about the rain that fell last week and again on Monday morning. The thunder and lightening that came along early Monday was really something else too. A tree fell sometime early Monday on 580 just past county road 426 blocking half of the south bound side. Further on past the Delta Acres water was running across 580. There seemed to be a lot of run off because of the ground being so wet. All the tanks toward Lampasas were brimming full and after this rain they will be running over.

All the wet weather must have washed all the news away, as not much of anything to report on this week.

A bereavement dinner was held on the hill at the community center Wednesday for the family and many friends of Barbara Jones.

Condolences go out to the family of Naoma Smithheart who passed away last week. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Lola Morris reported that Richard Lee and Ann Johnson of Lampasas was out Saturday and stopped by after they had been to the cemetery.

Rufus Cobern is still improving each day and getting stronger which is really good news, especially for his domino playing friends

Texas University played Missouri this past weekend in Columbia, Missouri with a score of 41-7. You can just know how Jerome and Shirley Meischen liked the outcome of the game, especially since their grandson Blake Gideon plays on the Longhorn team.

The Longhorns will be playing Oklahoma State at Stillwater, Oklahoma next Saturday, October 31st and it will be a night time game.

Happy birthday greetings go out to Ryan Brister who will celebrate his birthday November 1st and to Becky Grant who will celebrate a birthday November 5th.

Congratulations go out to George and Toni Mayben who will celebrate an anniversary November 1st, and also to Lester and Millie LeMaster who will be celebrating an anniversary November 1st.
