Maria Sixta Cardenas

Maria Sixta Cardenas, 63, of San Saba, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008 at a care facility in Brownwood, Texas. She was born April 6, 1944, in Santa Maria De Los Angeles, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of Juan De Dios Rodriguez and Maria Soledad Rosales Flores Rodriguez. Maria Rodriguez later married Fidencio Cardenas. Fidencio preceded her in death on August 3, 1981.

Maria is survived by three sons: Victor Cardenas of New Port News, Virginia; Joel and his wife, Angela Cardenas, of Brownwood; and Enrique and his wife, Windy Cardenas, of Brownwood; three daughters: Teresa and her husband, Abel Salazar, of Goldthwaite; Alma Cardenas of Waco; and Patricia and her husband, Bradley Zabel, of Dallas; twelve grandchildren: Sarah, Fidencio, Raquel, Kristobal, Abelardo, Victoria, Taran, Korben, Daniel, Melanie, Donovan, and Morganna; two brothers: Manuel and his wife, Yolanda Rodriguez, of Del Rio, Texas; and Rito and his wife, Maria Elena Rodriguez, of Abilene, TX; one sister, Maria Del Refugio Rodriguez of Ciudad Acuna, Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 7, 2008, at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home with Rev. Santos Arredondo officiating. Interment followed at the San Saba City Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to American Cancer Society.

Funeral services were under the direction of the Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba, TX.
