Fifth grade students at Richland Springs will attend the Farm Safety Day in San Saba on Wednesday, Oct. 28 with fifth grade sponsor Sue Ransom. Fifth graders enjoy this yearly safety day camp to learn about farm safety.

The Richland Springs junior high will play Rochelle junior high at Rochelle at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22nd. The junior varsity is open this week. Congratulations to the junior high athletes on their victory over the Robert Lee Dogies last week.

The varsity Coyotes defeated Robert Lee 62-8 in the 2nd district game last week. The varsity Coyotes (5-1, 2-0) will play Rochelle (6-0, 2-0) at Coyote Field on Friday October 23rd at 7:30. Bring your spirit, noisemakers, and come out and enjoy our young athletes in what looks like will be a good match-up. Be sure to give the cheerleaders and band a big thumbs-up for their efforts. The cool, crisp evenings have been great football nights.

Valerie Gossett notes that the library is collecting Box Tops for Education, and also canned food for the San Saba Food Pantry. Bring your canned goods to the library or contact any 4 – H student.

Thanks to Gerald McKee and the San Saba Young Farmers for tagging the goats and sheep last Saturday for the San Saba County show and for the various state shows. The Young Farmers do a lot of behind-the-scene work to help our FFA and 4H students.

Remember to mark your calendars for the 3rd annual Booster Club Chili Supper at 5:30 p.m. and Bingo at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24th at the Richland Springs cafetorium.

We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It looks to be a great year at Richland Springs.
