Brady 8th Bulldogs bite 8th Dillos 36-14

Brady's 8th Grade Bulldogs defeated the San Saba 8th Grade Dillos by a score of 36-14 in Brady last Thursday night. Brady kicked to San Saba to start the game. Dallas Caldwell had a 30 yard return. The Dillos ran 3 plays and punted. Brady took over and drove the ball on the Dillos for a score. The PAT was stopped by Jordan Watson, Kolton Ellis, Brian Rogers, Kristian McCoury and Ismael Ramirez. 6-0 Brady. San Saba received the kickoff. Dallas Caldwell had a good return to the 45 yard line. Jordan Watson ran for 7, Kelan Verette escaped on a 48 yard touchdown run. The PAT failed. Good blocking by Kolton Ellis, Ashton Krueger, Ruben Aguirre, Daniel Calderon, Cosme Diaz, Asa Harbour, Cameron Rossi, Brandon Amstead, Gunnar Hibler, and Dylan Rosales paved the way. (6-6)

San Saba kicked to Brady and the quarter changed. Brady ran 2 plays before breaking a 60 yard touchdown run. The PAT failed. 12-6 Brady. Brady kicked to San Saba. Jordan Watson ran for 5 yards. The Dillos fumbled. Brady fumbled it back the next play when Kelan Verette tackled the Brady Quarterback. Verette recovered the fumble after causing it. The San Saba offense moved the ball on Brady. Watson ran for 2. After one incomplete pass, Verette found Daniel Calderon for 12 yards. Dallas Caldwell ran for 7 yards. Watson gained 10 more, Verette 1, Watson 2. A pass to Calderon added 10 more. Caldwell added 2 yards, Calderon 6. On 4th down a Dillo pass was incomplete and Brady took over on their own 10 yard line in the 37 seconds to the half. The Brady quarterback took it to the house 80 yards. The PAT was good, 20-6 at the half.

San Saba kicked to Brady to start the second half. San Saba's defense played good at times with hard hits by Ruben Aguirre, Daniel Calderon, Jordan Watson, Kolton Ellis, J.T. Hibler, Brandon Amstead, and Brian Rogers. Eventually Brady scored from 35 yards out on a hard run by their full back. The PAT was good. 28-6 Brady. Brady kicked to San Saba. The Dillo offense ran 3 plays and punted. Kolton Ellis had a big hit on the first play after the punt. Dallas Caldwell intercepted a Bulldog pass to give the Dillos the ball. Kelan Verette ran for 40 yards only to have the run called back due to a penalty. The quarter changed.

Cosme Diaz had a 6 yard run but San Saba was forced to punt. A muffed snap gave Brady good field position. Brady scored to up the score to 36-6. Brady kicked to San Saba. Wesley Gates blocked well. Jordan Watson ran for 5 yards. Kolton Ellis made a great catch and ran on a pass from Kelan Verette to gain 50 yards. Watson ran for 7 then 5 yards. A pass to Ruben Aquirre was incomplete. Watson ran for 4 before scoring from 8 yards out on an option play. The pass to Watson from Verette was good for the extra points. 36-14 Brady as the scoring ended. San Saba 8th Dillos play Early Thursday night at Rogan field.
