National Teen Driver Safety Week, October 18-24th
Thursday, October 15, 2009 • Posted October 15, 2009

Motor vehicle accidents are the number one killer of teens in the United States. FIVE HUNDRED TEXAS TEENS ARE KILLED EACH YEAR IN VEHICLE CRASHES. State Farm wants to protect the safety of our nation’s youth by addressing this issue head on. That’s why State Farm is a strong supporter of teen safe driving programs such as Project Ignition, Steer Clear and Ride Like A Friend, and why we choose to spotlight and support National Teen Driver Safety Week (NTDSW).

Safety issues such as:

- Texting while driving

- Distracted driving

- Driving under the influence; and

- Driving at night

- Fatigued driving

all continue to impact teen drivers and contribute to auto accidents.
