Fellowship of Christian Women to hold luncheon Thursday, Oct. 22nd
Thursday, October 15, 2009 • Posted October 15, 2009

Next Thursday, October 22nd, Fellowship of Christian Women will be gathering at First Baptist Church in the fellowship hall at 11:30a.m. Ladies of this church invite the ladies of our county to join us for an Autumn Favorites Luncheon, treating our ladies in their 40’s. If your birthday is in the forties, you do not have to bring food, other ages are encouraged to bring your favorite autumn foods to share around the serving tables. A nursery will be available if you make arrangements with Sharon Hayes in advance, and please remember to bring food for your children to enjoy, if you want them to eat during the luncheon.

Pastor Barrett and his wife, Barbara Renfro have agreed to come and share a testimony about a new ministry for our county, named The Quiet House Prayer Retreat Center. The Renfro’s retired the first time after serving Methodist Churches in San Antonio and three churches in the Rio Grande Valley. Last year he retired the second time from a church in Austin as an associate pastor, and they began thinking about another way to serve the Lord. A beautiful piece of land was located north of Richland Springs and a prayer ministry was started. The couple lives in Austin and come to San Saba several times a month for retreats. Hope you will mark your calendars for next Thursday and make your plans to enjoy the fellowship time and then to hear the story of this prayer retreat center right here in San Saba County!
