Town Hall Meeting held for information on H1N1 Influenza

On Monday, September 28th at 6 p.m. a meeting was held to give information about the HlNl Influenza (Swine Flu).

Eighteen people, including the speakers, attended the meeting in the County Courtroom.

Representives from the Regional Office of State Health Services Region 7 in Temple presented information. They were Carol Davis, Dr. Tom Betz, Pat Collins and JoLeen Eiklenborg.

Important information was presented about the new H1N1 virus. The vaccination for the H1N1 virus is expected to be available soon. Instructions on what can be done to prevent contacting the virus, and the care you should take when you have the virus was explained.

San Saba County has experienced far less cases of H1N1 than surrounding counties. It is recommended that everyone get the seasonal flu shots that are available now and then the H1N1 vaccination when they are available. To learn more go to Texasflu.org and ask about flu vaccinations.
